~ Penny Fountain Falls ~

Sister Sarah and I, loved to travel with Nan,

To Southport, soft sand and arcades our intent,

Nan’s Achilles heel was alluring money waterfalls,

Was it just her love of fun and let us have our play?

When we were ready, she was ever not,

It was always difficult for her to leave,

Have you got just one more penny?

The treasure is about to tumble and fall,

And we always ended up running for our train,

Now Nan is no more, but every once in a while,

I play the pier palace of bright light and tricks,

But of all Arcadian’s bells, bangs and blips,

It’s to the quiet penny fountain falls I always find,

Funding memories of my sister, Nan and our trips.
